St. Anne’s Bohernabreena GAA Club is a vibrant community hub located at the foot of the Dublin Mountains. Beyond its sporting activities, the club serves as a vital social center, hosting events, parties, and gatherings in its busy function room and private bar. As a focal point for the local community, the club is constantly looking for ways to improve facilities for members and visitors while managing operating costs and sustainability.
The club required a robust heating and cooling solution to maintain a comfortable environment in their function room and private bar, spaces that can see high occupancy and fluctuating temperatures. Simultaneously, the committee wanted to introduce Electric Vehicle (EV) charging as a modern amenity for members and visitors.
The challenge was to deliver both high-capacity climate control and EV charging without cluttering the building’s exterior with multiple systems or incurring the high costs associated with major electrical infrastructure upgrades.
EVHACS installed a 14kW 3-Phase Mr Slim Standard Inverter heat pump. To effectively cover the large floor area of the function room and bar, the system was configured with two ceiling-mounted cassette units running from the single outdoor unit.
Crucially, the system features a 7.4kW EVHACS Integrated Charger supplied via our Remote Socket System.
System Highlights
St. Anne’s Bohernabreena GAA now benefits from a warm, welcoming environment in their function room year-round, regardless of the weather outside. The addition of the EV charger has future-proofed the facility, offering a convenient service that attracts visitors and supports members making the switch to electric driving. The installation was completed with minimal disruption, providing two premium solutions on a single electrical circuit.
For busy community venues like St. Anne’s, traditional installations often mean double the work: one contractor for HVAC, another for EV charging, and twice the fees. EVHACS solves this by merging both technologies into a single installation. Our patented technology allows the heat pump and charger to share the same power supply safely. This means St. Anne’s saved on installation time and disruption. It is the ultimate “two-for-one” infrastructure upgrade, delivering comfort inside and power outside in one seamless package.
