The team at EVHACS just concluded an insightful day at the IHBA House Building Summit 2026, where leaders from across the construction, technology, and energy sectors gathered to discuss the future of housing in Ireland.
This was an invaluable resource as we move toward integrating energy monitoring technology into our product line with the potential to reduce the cost of housing construction across the country. One of the barriers for the construction of new houses in Ireland is the difficulty in getting planning permission for reasons such as the high energy consumption of newer houses. We see this as an opportunity for the construction sector to use our energy monitoring systems to optimise energy efficiency and to be able to provide energy statistics which can potentially be used to obtain planning permission more easily.

EVHACS CEO Jeff Aherne speaks with Shane Toye of Mitsubishi Electric Ireland
At the event, Jeff Aherne and Shane Toye discussed why innovative technologies across heating, cooling, and ventilation in residential buildings matter now more than ever. Being able to convey this message at an event like this was an excellent way to showcase the value of EVHACS’ product line in the future of home building. This conversation and the event as a whole is hopefully a step in the direction of becoming integrated with housing construction in the future.
