County Kildare, Ireland Irish technology and manufacturing company EVHACS announces today (April 4th) that it has welcomed to its HQ and factory in Co. Kildare, the Ambassador of Barbados to Ireland. Ambassador Haynes toured the facility in Clane, Co. Kildare and met staff who displayed for him the EVHACS technology.
The technology is a world-first patent-pending solution which seeks to contribute to lowering home and commercial premises carbon emissions by integrating the two technologies (Heat Pumps and Air Conditioners) with EV Charging thereby:
- allowing for easier access to EV charging via the enormous heat pump and air conditioning network;
- lowering installation costs for EV charging;
- lowering running costs due to increased efficiencies and COP increases;
- dynamically managing power consumption in the home for heat pumps, EV and domestic power;
- removing the need for additional Home Energy Management Systems;
- providing a simple method to Grid Operators to balance Heat Pumps and EV Charging;
- helping to solve future power outages;
- lowering CO² output and energy consumption;
- enabling greater adoption of EV and Heat Pumps to move away from fossil fuels
EVHACS is an Irish Company which already offers a range of variations in its product line up: as well as various integrated EV charger and Heat Pump models the company also sells a standalone domestic and commercial EV Charger. Domestic customers can avail of SEAI’s Heat Pump and EV Charger grant schemes, which makes the cost even cheaper than purchasing a stand-alone charger. Add on cost savings from not needing a home energy management system and tech like a diverter, a device that reroutes solar generated power to heat water rather than selling it back to the grid, the savings to a homeowner purchasing an EVHACS unit are potentially significant.
The introduction of EVHACS to market comes at a time when Ireland, and indeed, Europe as a whole, have seen a surge in demand for ownership in Electric Vehicles: a 34% increase in EV sales year-on-year across the EU; and a significant increase in Ireland so far in 2025. Such customer demand only increases the necessity for roll-out of adequate charging infrastructure – not just in Ireland but across the continent.
The EVHACS suite of products aims to address several significant challenges including:
- The drive to electrification of the transport network and concomitant implementation of electric vehicle charging infrastructure;
- The issue of dynamic load balancing within a building where the owner can direct priority either towards or away from the charging electric vehicle;
- A payment gateway that affords commercial premises owners the opportunity to receive income for use of the EVHACS system by a third party visitor at their premises.
Jeff Aherne, CEO of EVHACS says:
“We were delighted to welcome Ambassador Haynes to our HQ. Having this kind of special occasion further demonstrates to us that our technology has global reach. We’re proud to be Irish and to manufacture the units locally in Co. Kildare.”
