What is Load Balancing?

Most homes in Ireland have anything from 52 to 70 Amps available to them. That's a maximum of 12 to 16kW at any time. Most modern houses use an "ambient" 0.5kWh (approximately) of power throughout the day, that's your fridge, phone chargers, radio, TV etc.
Add onto that 0.5kWh of consistent use, another consumer of power; heat pumps. Around 3 - 7kWh.
Now turn on your car charger, you can see that there's very little power left for your home to use.
It's 6pm, everyone is home, you turn on the oven. If anything else is turned on your mains circuit breaker will trip and you're left in the dark.
Some smart chargers, including ours, will turn down the power going to your car during peak demand so that you can, literally, keep the lights on.
EVHACS is the ONLY system that gives you the power to choose between prioritizing your heating or EV charging during peak times.
The following is for illustrative purposes only and does not depict the actual workings of an EVHACS system; for the avoidance of doubt the locations of the various components within or outside the dwelling, sizing, cables, or the proximity of any component each to the other, is purely illustrative.
