Why is my car not charging ?

Check the LED on your charger.

The Status LED indicator is located on your charger, this is either on your heatpump for hybrid system or on your charging socket for Standalone chargers.

The Green LED indicates that the charger is working and available. The blue LED indicates that the vehicle is delivering power.

If the Status LED indicator is RED this means there is a fault with the charger. Note: This Red LED shows for 30 seconds after the charger is re-set. Some faults may be temporary. Try to plug out the vehicle and plug in again to clear the fault. If the LED remains red, the specific error will appear on your app. See the following for explanation of Fault Codes.

Is the Charging Schedule set ?

Log in to the EVHACS app. Check the Status bar at the top of the main screen.

Check the Status next to the car icon – if Awaiting Schedule appears, the car will not charge until the scheduled charging time.

AwaitingSchedule

To charge immediately, simply swipe the plug icon right to begin charging. The car will begin charging. The charging session will not finish until you

Swipe left to Stop Charging or The end of the scheduled charging time is reached.

NOTE : If your vehicle is still not charging, check the Car’s settings – either using car’s app or on the car dashboard. Is there a conflicting schedule set on the vehicle which is preventing charging ? Change this schedule or select Immediate charging on the vehicle. Charging should begin.

Charging Power Level Set to Zero.

Power Level

The EV charger can be turned off by setting the Charger Power Level to Zero. Charging will not work until the charging power level is set to a minimum of 6amps/1.4kW.

The Status Bar will have a status of “Charger Error” and the message “Charger power set to Zero” appears underneath the Charging controls.
To adjust : Select the Power icon from the main screen.
Adjust the power level. The vehicle should now begin charging.
Car has stopped charge.

This message appears most commonly if the car battery level has reached the maximum set by the user i.e. is fully charged.

The message can also appear if all other conditions are met for charging to begin, but the car does not ask for power. On some vehicles the car can enter a sleep mode so does not wake up even at the beginning of scheduled charging window.

If this occurs check your vehicles manual to change sleep settings in the dashboard or vehicle app.

This status is also known as SuspendedEV.

Charger Error.

This message appears at the beginning of every charging session. Ir occurs when the vehicle and charger are communicating – the car is checking what power is available and preparing to charge.

This message should disappear after about 30 seconds. The status will then change to Charging or Awaiting Schedule.

Another reason this message may appear is if the EVHACS unit is load balancing and has temporarily reduced or turned off power to the EV charger. Your vehicle will automatically resume charging once power is available to do so. To confirm load balancing, select Usage Data from the main page of the app. The graph should reflect if the system is currently load balancing.

If none of the above apply, it means the charger is not offering power for another reason. Always try re-plugging the vehicle, if this does not succeed please contact EVHACS.
